2010 National Educational Webcast
Social Workers Speaking Up: Poverty Costs

CASW hosted a free National Educational Webcast for individual members of member organizations. This event was a great success with 508 participants including 409 students that joined in from classrooms across Canada. Thirty-seven people completed the evaluation survey with three quarters of respondents reporting that the webcast was useful and educative, and 97.3% responding that they would participate in future CASW educational webcasts.

CASW expresses its sincere appreciation for the webcast presenters, Brian Adams (OASW), Paul O’Hara (NSASW), and Eveline Milliken (MASW), who shared a wealth of social work experience in advocating for, teaching and supporting marginalized populations is Canada. This webcast was interactive, allowing for audience participation—in which the passion for social justice proved to be alive and well. During the question and answer period, presenters fielded over 30 questions and comments.
