Dawn MacDonald, MSW, RSW is a passionate, committed leader bringing mindfulness and compassion practices worldwide. In 2010, she co-founded the Compassion Project, a thriving organizational change and development initiative co-creating the conditions for compassion to flourish within Health and Human Services. A believer in the resiliency of the human spirit, she advances the idea that social work and social workers are uniquely poised to bring changes to policies and systems throughbroadening ourawareness and living into the inherent compassion that drew us to this work. She firmly asserts that change begins personally, then interpersonally, and broadens to our organizations and society. Dawn is a fully certified trainer and teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through the University of Massachusetts Medical School, the birthplace of MBSR and is faculty at Brown University's Mindfulness Center. She also trains and teaches Mindful Self Compassion and has graduated from Stanford University’s Center for Compassion Altruism Research and Education and is a Certified Compassion Cultivation Training Teacher. She is a Senior Instructor with the Institute of Mindful Leadership and currently supportsindividuals and their familiesnavigating cancer diagnosis and treatments at Grace Hospital.
