The Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) is a proud member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW).

The IFSW is the global body for the social work profession, with members in the following five regions:

  • Africa
  • Asia and Pacific
  • Europe
  • Latin America and Caribbean
  • North America

The Federation and its national members work toward social justice, human rights and inclusive, sustainable social development by promoting social work best practices and engaging in international cooperation.

For more information, please visit the IFSW website.

As a member of IFSW North America, CASW works closely with our American partner, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Today’s social workers care for more clients than ever—with fewer resources and support. Together, CASW and NASW work on communication campaigns, address the de-professionalization of social work, and disseminate research in the field. We actively advocate and work to strengthen the social work profession in our region and around the world.
