Recipient Bio:

Twenty-five years ago, I had the privilege of supervising Cheryl Jamieson in her placement as a BSW student.  From the first day of her placement, her drive, dedication, and compassion were very evident.  In the 25+ years since that time, Cheryl used those attributes, with strong and growing social work skills, to rapidly become an inspiring example to me and our professional peers.

Cheryl embodies the highest values of social work.  This is lived by her every day through skilled evidence-based service, an unwavering desire to see the world through her clients’ eyes, and a drive to help clients access what they need to heal and succeed.

Happily, Cheryl has taken these values to a high position of leadership in her current role of Children’s Services Manager, Social Development and Seniors.  Cheryl has also worked very hard to support the health, growth, and regulation of social work in Prince Edward Island.  She currently serves as the chair of the Prince Edward Island Social Work Registration Board.
