THREADS: Cultural Conversations 2026, a free online cross-cultural learning conference taking place October 15–16, 2026.
Hosted by the Saskatoon Open Door Society, THREADS brings together educators, researchers, Indigenous leaders, newcomers, artists, community leaders, and storytellers from Canada and around the world to explore identity, culture, migration, reconciliation, inclusion, and belonging.
This year’s theme, Reclaiming, explores how individuals and communities reclaim their identities, cultures, histories, education, environments, music, and voices. Through conversations, personal stories, research, and creative expression, participants hear directly from people with diverse lived and professional experiences.
For professionals working in HR, education, DEI, social services, nonprofit leadership, and community development, THREADS offers an opportunity to better understand the experiences and perspectives of the people they work with and serve. The conference encourages participants to move beyond awareness and consider practical ways to create more inclusive workplaces, services, learning environments, and communities.
