The World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) World Congress is a biennial gathering of professionals dedicated to advancing the wellbeing of infants, young children, and families.

Since its inception, the Congress has served as a forum for researchers, clinicians, educators, policymakers, and advocates to connect across borders, disciplines, and cultures. Each edition reflects WAIMH’s enduring mission to bring science and practice together to strengthen early relationships everywhere.

In 2026, we come together for the 19th WAIMH World Congress, hosted in Toronto, Canada - a city that celebrates diversity, creativity, and collaboration.

Congress Theme - Harmony in Diversity: Nurturing the Youngest Minds Around the World

The theme of WAIMH 2026 invites us to reflect, reimagine, and respond to the evolving needs of infants, families, and communities in a changing world.

It will guide conversations throughout the Congress - shaping plenary sessions, symposia, and interactive dialogues that explore the science of relationships, the impact of systems, and the power of connection.
