April 1, 2026 – The Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) is pleased to announce that the Association québécoise des travailleuses sociales et des travailleurs sociaux (AQTS) has signed an affiliation agreement to join its national federation.

The Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW), representing over 20,500 members across Canada, urges the federal government to invest in three targeted measures that will reduce long-term costs, strengthen public safety, and support a resilient, inclusive economy.

March 5, 2026 – Today, the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) is expressing its deep concern to the Government of Canada about the unfair policy focus on refugees and asylum seekers currently being enacted by newly introduced federal legislation, regulations, and the continued upholding of the Safe Third Country Agreement with the United States of America (USA).

March 2, 2026 - In honour of National Social Work Month, the three pillars of the profession join in celebration of 100 years of organized and professional social work in Canada, marked by the establishment of the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) in 1926.
