SASW is pleased to present Ruth Ann Thomas, Registered Social Worker, as the Saskatchewan Recipient of the CASW Distinguished Service Award 2026.
As a Registered Social Worker for more than 20 years, Ruth Ann has had active involvement with SASW; including the Saskatoon and Northern Branches, Mentorship and Awards Committees, and SASW Council for 4 years. Ruth Ann has been the Saskatchewan representative to the CASW Board of Directors for the past 3 years.
Ruth Ann is a promoter of the profession of social work – always taking the opportunity to let other professions and the public know what social work is all about. As well, Ruth Ann displays an attitude of “why not” when faced with challenges or barriers to attaining a goal, working hard at finding solutions.
Ruth Ann has been a dedicated advocate for children and their families across the province. Ruth Ann currently works in private practice in Saskatoon, where her interest is working with families.
